Lead Prep Cook - Flour Bakery

This is a lead prep position in one of our bakery locations in Boston or Cambridge. Location is to be determined at a later date.
The Lead Preparation Cook position is a great opportunity for any line cook or prep cook that is looking to grow into a leadership role and/or management.
- Execute prep list for savory and pastry items as written by kitchen manager or manager . Note the order in which tasks are to be completed.
- Provide support for coworkers in order to ensure prep is being done efficiently.
- Follow all recipes and techniques in food preparation.
- Be another set of eyes on product/Mom test
- Provide constructive feedback as needed
- Handle food and clean stations per standard sanitation procedures.
- Assist with kitchen upkeep and deep cleaning tasks when production list is complete
- Assist with checking in ordering from BK
- Help maintain an orderly and clean kitchen
- Cover all Kitchen managers days off
- Check-in each day when you arrive and leave with the FOH manager or Kitchen Manager
- Plan any and all catering and special orders with FOH manager or Kitchen Manager
- Place BK orders through Flexi
- Place vendor orders
- Inventory product to meet all BOH food pars
- Ensure stewards have a plan for the day and night
- Demonstrate an active passion for Flour and our mission

- Preferred 6 months of baking experience and/or related experience and training
- Must be able to maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
- Must be able to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs. without assistance
- Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and machinery.
- Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures (at times, you could be in a freezer and/or hot kitchens, etc.)
- We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.
